It's an insider tip, best location for the AFRICAN Union Headquarters, only 400 m to the entrance. In the middle of the city, quick to the airport. very quiet, very large rooms and suites. Very friendly service. Own small restaurant and very good bar.

It is 3 mins walk to AU HQ, so very conveniently located for those coming to attend a conference there like me. The hotel is managed by a friendly lady and team, who went out of their way to make my stay a pleasant one. I found it good value for money, compared to pricy international hotels here. I would go back again for my future missions to Addis Ababa.

The room Wifi wasn't work well at first, so the staff went out of their way to get me connected, by letting me use their SIM card - thus i was able to stay connected throughout my stay, in and out of the hotel. The hotel doesn't have yet the credit card payment facility, so better to go with cash in USD.

The location of the apartment is very close to the African Union and thus it was selected for those purposes. It is about a four minute walking distance. The room is a simple and spacious apartment style room with a small kitchen and sink in the room. I love the fact that I could opt to not add breakfast noting I had to leave for meetings early in the morning anyway. For very short stays, it fits the purpose. The hotel owner is extremely warm and pleasant, along with her staff who are always on standby to help. She arranged with a hotel nearby to give me complementary pickup on arrival which was very pleasant.

The room had no fridge and the street leading to the apartment was quite dark as there was not a lot of light. There is also quite some construction around so there was a little noise but it wasn't too bad. Additionally, it is not a traditional hotel hence you will have to make pickup arrangements in advance as there is no car on standby. They are working to expand their services so this may change with time. I did not have Wi-Fi on the first night because it wasn't working but subsequent days was okay.
